Tell me about your family and where you are based
Me my two boys husband dog and 3 cats moved last year from a small new subdivision in Whanganui to an old farmhouse lifestyle block in Marton. Now we have an extra 2 goats and 2 chickens and plan to get more 😍
What is a typical day like in your house?
No two days are ever the same in our whare. I don’t know how we are always so busy but I guess that’s just mum life. James is either at kindy or with me and Jack. We catch up with friends and family almost every day, go for walks, shopping, run errands, playgrounds, op-shopping. Then home for afternoon naps, dinner and chill- although actually when that witching hour happens late afternoon it’s not very chill ha
What's your best childhood memory?
My best childhood memory is all the imaginative play my cousins and I would do. We were all raised by single teenage mums on the dpb so money was tight but we made our own fun and didn’t seem to need many toys etc this is something I have to remember with my kids- they really don’t need much. But we still keep buying them things 🤪
What was the first year of motherhood like for you?
The first year of motherhood was a really positive experience for me. My birth was traumatic but maybe James knew I needed a break because he really was a dream baby. Apart from our rocky breastfeeding journey that was 100% because I overthought everything/didn’t have the confidence and knowledge that I have now. Hardest part was filtering all the judgement and advice that comes with motherhood.
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve been given to arm you as you navigate motherhood or that you can pass on?
Trust your gut, you know what’s best for your baby, take everyone’s advice/opinions with a grain of salt.
What’s one thing as a mum you cannot live without?
One thing I can’t live without as a mama is my support system both IRL and online
How do you take time out for yourself without children?
Alone time to recharge but also child free time with my friends to re-energise

What is it you wanted to portray in your Instagram feed? Or wanted to share with others?
It changes depending on my mental capacity. I love sharing the raw honest motherhood things but those posts come with all the overthinking from myself- will people judge me for saying this? Will others feel the same? I also keep it light and use Instagram as a creative outlet. I love creating content and showcasing NZ small businesses. I also share snippets of our play ideas too, home decor, our whare, issues that are important to me.
What do you love about the FBK products?
First thing was the style and aesthetic, then the quality as we’ve had the products for years now. As I’ve gotten to know Sara I just get her general vibe and what she’s about 😍
